Gospel Life Church’s mission is to point themselves and others up; towards Jesus in all they do.
The letter G has always been used as their primary logo mark so I wanted to keep that moving forward. I refined and simplified it into a more distinct geometric shape for readability and a more unique identity. This would also allow for a lot more room to expand this visual look to other branches of their ministry.
The G is positioned on a 45º angle so it is always pointing up. This does two things. It reflects their mission statement of always pointing up, and also gives the G the look of mountains speaking to their location surrounded by the beautiful mountains in the Pacific Northwest foothills.
A modified and cleaned up Open Sans is kept for the type treatment. However font weight changes emphasize the word “Gospel” reinforcing its importance in what they do while keeping things very familiar.
